Local practice data
Qong Foo v1 is accountless. Your Belt progress, completed Practices, Revisit choices and Practice Log reflections are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded for cloud sync. Deleting the app or clearing its local storage may remove that progress.
What we collect
- Public website usage data — the website records basic product-interaction events associated with a randomly generated identifier. We use this to understand website use and improve Qong Foo. The native app sends no analytics, device identifiers or product-interaction data.
- Waitlist data — if you choose to join a public website waitlist, we process the email address and optional interests you provide.
- Support correspondence — if you contact us, we process the information you provide so we can respond and resolve your request.
What we do not collect from your practice
We do not collect your locally stored Belt progress, saved Moves or Practice Log reflections as part of Qong Foo v1. Please do not send highly sensitive medical, legal, financial or other special-category information unless it is genuinely necessary for a support request.
Why we use information and our legal bases
- Website analytics, security and service improvement — our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the public website, balanced against your privacy rights.
- Waitlist and launch emails — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.
- Legal and compliance matters — where processing is necessary to meet a legal obligation.
Where information is stored and shared
Your Qong Foo practice record is stored locally on your device. We use service providers for the public website, pseudonymous website analytics, administration and email delivery, including Supabase and Cloudflare. These providers process information on our behalf. The native app sends no analytics or practice data to them. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with advertisers.
International transfers
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires a transfer safeguard, we use an applicable lawful mechanism such as an adequacy regulation or approved contractual safeguards.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of personal information we hold, and to receive certain information in a portable form. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
You can erase your locally stored Qong Foo practice record using You → Reset Practice. For waitlist or support data held by us, contact

Retention
- Your Qong Foo practice record remains on your device until you reset it, clear local storage or delete the app.
- Pseudonymous public-website usage events are retained for up to 24 months.
- Waitlist information is retained until you unsubscribe, we close the relevant list, or it is no longer needed for the purpose for which you provided it.
- Support correspondence is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with the request and any related record-keeping obligations.
Age requirement
Qong Foo is intended for adults aged 18 and over. The app stores only a local confirmation that the user has declared they are 18 or over. It does not request or store a date of birth, identity document, facial estimate or age value, and the confirmation is not transmitted off the device.

Changes
We may update this policy as Qong Foo evolves. Where a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide an appropriate notice.
